.The first ballet composed in Monterey County finds itself onstage here in King City, California on 12th/13th/14th April 2019 and it has been quite a process. Nearly two years in the making with a wondrous collaboration of music and dance, Monterey County’s Nightingale Ballet is a reality. When King City resident Steve Ettinger (Composer & Music Educator) approached me (Mrs ‘H’) with the offer of composing a ballet for me I did not hesitate a second in accepting with a resounding “yes”. What an honor for the students of Monterey County Dance Theatre and our community to be part of something so very unique and special. Many a choreographer can only hope such an opportunity is made available to them. It is a personal honor but also challenging to make the music entrusted to me come to life through dance. With a few reflective tears shed quietly in remembrance of my Mum Pauline Houx Hall, with warm supportive love of my husband Hugh, The Nightingale Ballet is ready to take flight!! We invite you all to come along to the Robert Stanton Theatre and be part of this ‘World Premiere’ Production. Tickets ($10) are now on sale and can be purchased from Dance Parents, contacting Mrs ‘H’ or buy your ticket at the Theatre on performance days.
